Amnesia fishing line is the best and most well loved, memory-free monofilament line on the market. Amnesia is ideal for leaders and traces but can also be used as a backing line as it does not fall into coils as many other backing lines do, even if it has been on your reel for some time.  It is also said to be less prone to tangling than braided lines.
